The Acoustic Guitar Village in Cremona Musica continues, among the many difficulties, the organizational work for next September!

Hello everyone,
In the difficult situation we are currently experiencing, complying with such restrictive measures, our thought and closeness go to musicians, organizers, and all those who work in the music sector in Italy and all over the world. Nevertheless, we keep working at our best to plan and organize the Acoustic Guitar Village, Cremona Musica 2020, hoping that on September 25–26–27 2020, almost six months from today, we will be ready and active for a new and rich edition of the event!….
Following the tradition of the many successful past editions of the masterclasses and courses both in Sarzana and Cremona, here is the program of the masterclasses of lutherie– this year for guitar and mandolin – and acoustic guitar techniques teaching. The cast of the teachers is, as always, more than qualified: for lutherie we will have the Italian master luthiers Enrico Bottelli and Lorenzo Lippi and the great American luthier John Monteleone, who took part in other editions both in Sarzana and Cremona, but is always welcome. By now his career is, as a matter of fact, exceptionally glorious: its four archtop guitars that make up the “Four Seasons” collection are permanently exhibited at the Metropolitan Museum in New York!

Multiple themes will be discuss in depth, concerning subjects from acoustic classical, modern and archtop guitars to the history and construction of the mandolin. This last one will be one of the novelties of this year’s edition: the Cremona Mandolino Show event which will take place within the three days of the AGV in Cremona Musica.
For the masterclass on acoustic guitar techniques, we will have as teachers the Sicilian guitarist Francesco Buzzurro, virtuoso and teacher at the Salerno Conservatory, and the great Ed Gerhard, who will be back in Italy after few years.  Both will analyse performance and expression techniques on the acoustic guitar, with insights on the composition as well. It will be possible to acquire and refine new techniques and be heard and advised by two masters of the six acoustic strings!

All programs and registration forms are published on the dedicated site at the link https://acousticguitarvillage.net/en/cremona-2020/2013-editiondidactic-courses/  and https://acousticguitarvillage.net/www.cremonamusica.com/en/acoustic-guitar-village/

Many other activities are being defined and perfected: from the Cremona Mandolino Show event, for which the masters Carlo Aonzo, Lorenzo Frignani and Leonardo Petrucci are preparing historical exhibition, conferences, workshops on execution techniques and performances with Italian plucked ensembles.
Other evens that will take place are the 8th edition of the Italian Bluegrass Meeting, coordinated by Danilo Cartia, the New Sounds of Acoustic Music, contest for emerging guitarists, and the new edition of “Corde & Voci d’Autore” that, thanks to the organizational help of Andrea Tarquini, is a point of reference for many songwriters.

The work to set up the exhibition area continues: everybody will be able to admire and try the best acoustic guitars on the market and many other plectrum and plucked instruments, as well as meet master luthiers, guitar makers, construction companies and other international actors in the sector.
